Hold a permanent residence permit for 2+ years (refugees: 1 year)

Pass Prøve i Dansk 3 (or Prøve i Dansk 2 if eligible)

Pass the Indfødsretsprøven

Confirm self-support (no social assistance in the last 2 years)

Full-time work for 3 years 6 months within the last 4 years

Confirm no overdue debt to the public sector

Check criminal record and any waiting period (karens)

Submit the online application with MitID

Pay the DKK 6,270 application fee

Sign the declaration of allegiance and loyalty (MitID)

Send your test certificate (prøvebevis) to the ministry yourself

Be included in a naturalisation bill passed by the Folketing

Attend the municipal constitutional ceremony (incl. handshake)

Receive your statsborgerretsbevis
